Ace Wire Spring & Form Co., Inc. Hosting Students for Manufacturing Day 2017
(Tour of Ace Wire Spring & Form Shop and Q&A with Design Engineers)
PITTSBURGH, PA - Ace Wire Spring & Form Company, Inc., a manufacturer of custom precision springs, will be celebrating Manufacturing Day 2017 by hosting students from a local high school, and a local college, for shop tours and Q&A sessions with Ace Wire Spring Design Engineers. This year, Manufacturing Day will take place on Friday, October 6th.
Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. It is a chance for students to see the diverse career options that are innovative, impactful and durable. In response to a dire need in America, MFG DAY helps with the industry's major shortage of skilled workers. An estimated two million manufacturing jobs will go unfilled over the next decade due to companies' inability to find talent with the required skills. Several leading industry organizations determined five years ago the best way to combat this malady and reverse negative misperceptions people may have about manufacturing jobs and careers is to literally show "up close and personal" the exciting kind of work that takes place in plants across the U.S.
Supported by a group of industry sponsors and co-producers, MFG DAY amplifies the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinates a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. The rallying point for a growing mass movement, MFG DAY empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
Ace Wire Spring & Form Company (www.acewirespring.com) has manufactured custom precision springs for diverse applications since 1939. The ISO certified company develops and manufactures a wide variety of compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and wire forms.
